Craft Attitude Wedding

Candie and Aaron Wedding 2

March 23rd was the big day!  We had a blast!  It was everything we hoped for and dreamed about.  Married life is good too!  We loved our wedding so much—I’ll post more pictures later and there are tons on FB.  Thanks to Emily P for taking these sweet photos.  Recently I got back to making my altered books.  That’s how I can tell I’m really happy–the creative juices flow rapidly.  I’m having a blast cutting paper and completely addicted to Washi tape.

I’ve been traveling a bunch still working for so many fascinating companies–Plaid, Activa, Craft Attitude, Craftsy.com, FloraCraft, KS Productions and JTV for Beadalon.

In the evenings, that gives me time to print out images to work into one of my altered books or projects like this:

This is a vintage prism with a Craft Attitude image on the back side.  I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to adhere the CA to the prism.  It’s beautiful in a window or in wedding decorations because the image is perfectly translucent and vibrant.

With the wedding, I can’t help but look back to when we first met.  This picture was snapped a month after officially dating.  I made a little ring using this image and the Craft Attitude too.

I love how the silver metal finish comes through.  That’s what makes the Attitude films special–they pick up texture and finishes.  I got the ring from Amate Studios.  I may end up sealing it with Envirotex Lite so it has a protective resin on top.  Well, it’s back to work.  I just wanted to share these ideas with you.  Let me know if you ever have questions on the Craft Attitude film. I’m happy to help!!  And thanks for all the well wishes on the wedding.  The cards and notes have filled us with joy. Thank you.

Saucy DIY Earrings with Craft Attitude

Photo 1

These earrings were begging for a Craft Attitude makeover!!

Photo 2

I took the earrings apart and printed an image full of foliage onto Jewelry Attitude film from The Graphics Fairy.  Thank the Lord for the Graphics Fairy.  I love vintage anything and her site is a playground for vintage lovers!  The earrings had a smooth side and a textured side–I glued my CA piece on the smooth side.

Photo 2

I like to put the glue directly on the image, peel it from the paper backing and stick it onto my surface.  Trim the excess away with tiny scissors.

Put the earrings back together–total time to create took about 10 minutes!  With all the tribal and camo trends, these earrings are ready to play!!

Craft Attitude Bracelet

Fruit Basket Bracelet 2

Here's a bracelet I made using Craft Attitude and a worn out wood bracelet.  Each time I look at it, it makes me think of the kitchen cabinets at the house I grew up in.  My mother hand painted fruit baskets on each door with oil paint.  Oh, my sweet mom.  Now that I think about it, you could Craft Attitude your cabinets.

**Some of you have written to me asking how I get such illuminated surfaces with the Craft Attitude product.  Here's your new secret weapon—>

and BFF:  Liquid gilding paint!  I use it in silver and gold on almost everything.  The only thing I don't like about it is the clean up.  BUT!  I'll live because the result is worth it!  This paint is made by Martha Stewart/Plaid Enterprises.  Good stuff.

I applied the CA film with a permanent Elmer's glue stick.  Seal with matte Mod Podge.  Done deal.

New Year Sparkle Necklace

Photo 2-23

This will be as close as I get to seeing the ball drop tonight.  My hunky fiance' brought home fancy appetizers and we made potato soup (his request).  I've been editing photos to the tune of a crackling fire with two dogs curled up snoozing.  Admittedly, we binge watched the Twighlight series this weekend (I'd never seen them) and therefore are relying on Netflix to entertain us tonight.  We don't have cable here at the cabin.   No pressure, Netflix.

Photo 2-23

I'm hooked on cable necklaces right now….and the Twighlight movies.  First, I was on Team Edward and by disc three I was on team make-up-your-mind-Bella.  Crikey.  They were fun to watch all in a row.  There is one theater sort of near that is still playing Breaking Dawn part II.  We'll see if I can make it through the week without seeing it.  I'm trying to detox because today I was using red paint and later on noticed I had red on my hand.  You'd think my first thought would be "paint," but instead it was "vampires."

2012 was a really good year.

I tackled some resolutions, released a new book, got engaged, and bought a house.

Get ready 2013, because you've got some big shoes to fill!

Transferring Words to Jewelry

Necklace
This is more from the Jewelry Attitude collection.  I call this my Seeds of Change necklace.  I used Mod Podge to attach the words to wood beads.  Words can add so much to a design, yet it's still simple.  Until JA is launched, check out the Scrapbooking Attitude site for more cool ideas.  I'm working on a new video to show you a little bit more about the image transfer process.  There are so many variations on that technique, but this one is pretty much a two step operation.  Print it, Glue it.  Weeee!

This is a sunset photo transferred onto shell beads.  I love all the texture from the waves!  Wouldn't it be awesome if we were all beach side right now?  Ok, daydreaming over.
