This is our new favorite trick. Mix up the packaged blueberry muffins and before baking drop a slice of strawberry into the center. Bake like normal.

Ate 3 right outta the oven? Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.

My hunkie boyfriend has been sicker than a dog the past few days. I feel so bad for him, going through a box of Kleenex a day. Sinus misery. I made a pot of chicken noodle soup, picked up orange juice and splurged on Puffs Plus for him. For me, I made a lush salad to ward off those pesky germs. So far so good. I heard May was supposed to be bad for flu and colds since we've had such a strange spring. I hope everyone else stays healthy! Drink your OJ, kids.
There are a lot of projects going on in my studio the next couple months. It's overwhelming and exciting at the same time. I've turned my garage into the Hands On crafting headquarters. Gearing up for the next taping of Beads, Baubles and Jewels too. I'm working with Tierra Cast again for my segments. I love them. It's such a blessing to be able to do what you love and I can't thank you enough for the support and positive feedback. XOXO.
I was cleaning up my studio and came across some odds and ends. A red clip, a purple acrylic flower and a sparkle stone. Put it all together with some Quick Grip glue and this is what you get. It was instant-craftification in all it's glory.
*The acryclic flowers can be found at JoAnn Fabrics (Laliberi line), Plaid made the sparkle stone and Quick Grip is by Beacon Adhesives.
This is what we made in Crafty Book Club last Thursday night. Wildflower vases. It's your turn!
You can pick up vases for $1 at the dollar store or maybe less at a thrift store. The fabric is from my favorite Liberty of London scarf that I stopped wearing. I'm a scarf addict and recently cleaned out my collection. This one got a second chance as a vase scarf. You can use any kind of fabric you like. Tear it into 1" strips about 2' long. Hot glue one end of the strip to the top of the vase, wind and twist it around as far as you like. Hot glue the end down. String some beads onto 20g. wire. Wrap over top the fabric and secure like a twist tie. Make a faux-tie with a scrap of fabric and glue on top. Here's an aqua version—
Use up your odds and ends and make one for all your friends!
(I really didn't mean for that to rhyme)
Don't you love finding a heart in the center of a potato chip? It's the little things. This one came in our lunch from Cafe du Cirque in Peru. If you haven't eaten there, go, you'll love it!
I just got a comment from a lady in India who loves the beaded bead tutorial. It always amazes me who comes across this blog. Thanks to everyone for reading. You can see how to make your own beaded beads here. I've re-posted this a thousand times because they are so fun to make. These are some earrings I have at Dorothy Ilene's just in case you don't want to make your own (wink).
I'm off to watch a scary movie with my boyfriend. I hope your week is off to a good start!
Have you seen Simplicity's new needle felting machine? Last summer I went to Cleveland to film a quick info-mercial about it. Click the link above to see the skinny. When I returned home, I made a scarf for Simplicity using the machine. It has been making it's way around the magazine-sphere (Altered Couture above).
This is an ad from an upcoming Cloth, Paper, Scissors (Interweave). You can use all your favorite silk and wool fabric scraps plus colorful roving to make it. Check out the instructions here. It's so easy to make!
