Make quick pendants that you can switch out easily with the use of a bail. Using bails is quite simple, let me show you how.
A bail, at its core, is something that is used to hold a pendant to a necklace. The bail allows the pendant to move freely over the chain. Bails come in all shapes, sizes, metal colors and shapes. Selecting the right one for your project will be determined by what you are making. Consider the feel of your piece and what material you are trying to hang when selecting your bail. Types of Bails:
Pinch bails are the most basic form of a bail. Requiring no additional tools this is also the easiest to use. To use a pinch bail you will line up the prong with the hole of your pendant and use your fingers to tighten the bail in place. A squeeze with a pliers may help give you more confidence in using bails.
Glue on bails are great to use when you have a piece that does not have a pre drilled hole. Using these bails on buttons are a great way of turning your grandmothers items into jewelry. I always suggest using E6000 when gluing on a bail. Don’t take the risk of super glue frosting your pendant.
Pendant bails allow you to use a jump ring to drop a pendant off the bail. The jump ring will go through your pendant and through your bail. Think about the way that you want your pendant to sit when considering this bail type.

Candie , this instruction on bails was very good. This is what some of the new beaders need! I thought it covered everything for component bails. Thanks.
